3 arrests in Vicksburg kidnapping/armed robbery

Three suspects have been arrested in the kidnapping and armed robbery of two Monroe, Louisiana woman in Vicksburg.

Felix Howard of Pearl and Perry McAbee and Cedric Akite of Jackson have each been charged with two counts of kidnapping and two counts of armed robbery and auto burglary.

They were arrested Wednesday morning by the U. S. Marshal Fugitive Task Force. The suspects are being held in Rankin and Hinds County, but will be transferred to the Vicksburg Police Department later today.

Vicksburg to Commemorate 2011 Historic Flood Friday

The City of Vicksburg, in conjunction with the US Army Corps of Engineers Vicksburg District, will commemorate the 2011 historical Mississippi River flood with a ceremony on Friday, May 18, at 10 a.m.

The Mississippi River crested in Vicksburg on May 19, 2011, setting a record at 57.1 feet. The ceremony will be held at the Vicksburg waterfront and will include the official high water floodwall marking.

Police investigate kidnapping/armed robbery of La. women

VICKSBURG, MS (WLBT)- A trip across the river to a Vicksburg casino turned into a nightmare for two women who police said were abducted and robbed by men they just met.

According to Vicksburg Police, two Louisiana women were at the Ameristar Casino Saturday night when they met two men.

Just hours later their night of fun turned to sheer terror.

The unidentified Monroe Louisiana women exchanged numbers with the men then agreed to meet them later at the nearby Waffle House on Warrenton Road.

Former girlfriend charged with stealing from man in coma

VICKSBURG, MS (WLBT)- Susan Gould is in the Warren county jail charged with multiple counts of identity theft.

Gould was the live-in girlfriend of Fred Jackson, a Vicksburg man who was beaten and robbed at Tri-Miss salvage yard in Jackson in January.

Authorities say while Jackson was in a coma, Gould was getting credit cards in his name and selling off his welding equipment.

Gould, who is 30 years old, is charged with:

-id theft
-grand larceny
-check forgery
